Bathinda, 24 April : Deputy Commissioner Shri Shaokat Ahmad Pare informed that as of 23 April 2025, a total of ₹744.51 crore has been paid to farmers for wheat. He further mentioned that the district’s various grain markets have received 464,132 metric tons of wheat, out of which different purchasing agencies have already procured 385,832 metric tons.
Considering the ongoing wheat procurement in the district, the Deputy Commissioner directed officials to ensure provisions for drinking water, cleanliness, and other necessary arrangements in the markets for farmers. He also instructed the officials that any delay or negligence during the procurement process would not be tolerated.
In related information, District Food and Supply Controller Dr. Ravinder Kaur provided details of the wheat procured by different agencies as of 23 April, stating that Pan Grain has purchased 124,325 metric tons, Markfed 84,381, Punsap 85,365, Warehouses 58,734, and private traders 33,027 metric tons of wheat.
