₹80 Lakh Sanctioned for 157 Beneficiaries Under Ashirwad Scheme in Tarn Taran

Tarn Taran, 30 July 2025 : In an effort to uplift the living standards of Scheduled Castes, Backward Classes, and minority communities, the Punjab Government has released ₹80.07 lakh under the Ashirwad Scheme for 157 eligible beneficiaries belonging to backward classes and economically weaker sections in district Tarn Taran.

Sharing this information, Deputy Commissioner of Tarn Taran, Mr. Rahul, stated that the financial assistance has been approved for cases received up to March 2025. The amount will be transferred directly into the beneficiaries’ bank accounts through an online management system.

He further informed that cases of 651 beneficiaries for the months of April and May 2025, from various eligible categories, are being sent to the head office. These beneficiaries will also soon receive financial assistance.

District Social Justice and Empowerment Officer, Mr. Bikramjeet Singh Purewal, stated that under the Ashirwad Scheme, eligible beneficiaries are provided financial assistance of ₹51,000. To simplify the application process, the Punjab Government has launched an online portal through which applications can be submitted at: http://ashirwad.punjab.gov.in

Applicants can apply from the comfort of their homes by uploading all necessary documents along with the application. Beneficiaries can apply for the Ashirwad Scheme one month before or within one month after the wedding date of their daughter.
