65 Lakh Punjab Families to Get ₹10 Lakh Free Health Cover Under CM Scheme

Bathinda, 10 July 2025: The Punjab government, led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, has consistently focused on providing quality education and healthcare services to the public. This was shared by Deputy Commissioner Mr. Shaukat Ahmad Pare.

Providing further details, the Deputy Commissioner said that due to the firm steps taken by the government, Punjab is making remarkable progress in the health sector. Under the Chief Minister Health Insurance Scheme, common people of Punjab will now be entitled to free medical services worth up to ₹10 lakh without any discrimination. A total of 65 lakh families from all sections of society in Punjab will benefit from this scheme.

He further stated that no blue or yellow ration card will be required under this scheme. Every resident of Punjab will be able to get treatment based only on Aadhaar card or Voter ID card.

This public welfare scheme will be implemented soon by the state government. He added that under the leadership of Bhagwant Singh Mann, Punjab has become the first state in the country where every family will be entitled to cashless treatment up to ₹10 lakh.

He emphasized that with the launch of this health scheme, Punjab has set an example for other states across India. Punjab has now become the first state in India to provide its citizens with free healthcare, education, electricity, and bus travel. He also mentioned that there will be no income limit to avail of this scheme. Every citizen of Punjab, whether a government employee or a pensioner, will be entitled to this free healthcare service.
