Ferozepur17 June 2025 : To tackle mosquito-borne diseases like dengue and malaria, as well as other vector/water-borne illnesses, a district-level inter-departmental committee meeting was held under the chairmanship of Additional Deputy Commissioner (G) Mr. Damanjeet Singh Mann in the meeting hall of the District Administrative Complex. The meeting was attended by senior medical officers, heads of various departments, and representatives of social service organizations.

Teachers were also instructed to raise awareness about dengue, malaria, and cleanliness during parent-teacher meetings and morning assemblies.

Council representatives were also directed to issue challans in areas identified by the Health Department where larvae have been found and to ensure fogging is carried out in those areas.

On the occasion, District Epidemiologist Dr. Saminder Kaur provided detailed information about the health department’s efforts related to dengue larvae prevention and appealed to all departments to cooperate in the initiative.

Also present at the meeting were District Development and Panchayat Officer Harjinder Singh, District Education Officer (Secondary) Muneela Arora, Chief Agriculture Officer Gurpreet Singh Sidhu, District Mass Media Officer Sanjeev Sharma, and Deputy Mass Media Officer Ankush Bhandari.
