Ayurveda Officers Honoured on Yoga Day

Gurdaspur 23 June 2025 : Under the directives of the Punjab Government, on the occasion of International Yoga Day on June 21, a special yoga event was organized by the District Administration with the support of the Land Port Authority at Sri Kartarpur Sahib Corridor, Dera Baba Nanak.

During the event, under the management of District Ayurvedic and Unani Officer Gurdaspur Dr. Pradeep Singh, Ayurvedic Medical Officers Dr. Parneet Kaur, Dr. Amita Sharma, and CM’s Yogashala Yoga Instructor Gurjeet Singh were specially honoured for delivering commendable services during the yoga camp.

On this occasion, the Ayurveda and Unani Department, under the leadership of Dr. Parneet Kaur, also organized a special free medical check-up camp. A total of 287 patients were examined and provided free medicines. The Ayurvedic medical camp received an overwhelmingly positive response from the public.

While honouring Dr. Parneet Kaur, Dr. Amita Sharma, and Yoga Expert Gurjeet Singh, Dera Baba Nanak MLA Gurdip Singh Randhawa praised their dedication and contribution in making the event a success. He noted that these officers are highly capable and are serving the people with great commitment.

In response, Dr. Parneet Kaur expressed gratitude to MLA S. Gurdip Singh Randhawa and SDM Dera Baba Nanak, stating that the honour would further motivate her to work with even more dedication and sincerity. She emphasized that Ayurveda and Yoga are integral parts of India’s culture, offering effective and side-effect-free treatments. She encouraged people to adopt Ayurveda and Yoga for a healthy and disease-free life.

On this occasion, department members including Puneet Kumar, Sandeep Singh, Raj Kumar, Renu Bala, and other staff were also present.

Summary: Dr. Parneet Kaur and Dr. Amita Sharma were felicitated for promoting yoga and wellness on International Yoga Day.
