Chandigarh 1 July 2025 : The Punjab Roadways, PUNBUS, and PRTC Contract Workers Union Punjab staged a protest on Monday in front of the Director State Transport office located in Sector-17, expressing their demands. Punjab President Resham reiterated once again that if the demands are not taken seriously within 8 days, the Punjab Roadways, PUNBUS, and PRTC Contract Workers Union will be forced to go on strike across the state from July 9 to July 11.
While addressing the gathering, union leaders stated that the Punjab government has held several meetings, but for the past year, none of the demands have been accepted or implemented. On Monday, the union kept the Zirakpur and Kharar bus stands closed, causing major inconvenience to passengers. The leaders said that if their demands are not met by July 9, government buses across Punjab will be brought to a halt, and on July 10, they will gherao (surround) the Chief Minister’s residence.
