ADC Chairs Quarterly District Bankers’ Review Committee Meeting

Moga,1 July 2025 : All bank officials should prioritize providing maximum loans at easy interest rates to the poor and weaker sections of society, so that those in need can take up self-employment and lead a better life. This encouragement was given by Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Mrs. Charumita during the District-Level Bankers Review Committee quarterly meeting, addressing all the bank officials present from the district.

Mrs. Charumita stated that under Punjab & Sind Bank, the lead bank of Moga, all district banks collectively achieved 101% of the target in priority sectors. Moga district has secured a position among the top four districts in the state. She noted that the agriculture sector and personal loan segments have achieved excellent targets. Under the AIF (Agriculture Infrastructure Fund) scheme, Moga district banks ranked among the top ten in the country. She emphasized the need for further improvement in sectors like MSME, education, housing, renewable energy, export credit, and social infrastructure.

She also directed bank officials to provide banking services to the general public with honesty and transparency.

On this occasion, Lead Bank Manager of Moga, Mr. Chiranjeev Singh, presented a report on the performance of various banks in flagship schemes during 2024–25, such as:

  • Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana (PMSBY)
  • PM Formalization of Micro Food Processing Enterprises (PMFME)
  • Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana (PMMY)
  • PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana
  • PM Street Vendor’s Atmanirbhar Nidhi (PM SVANidhi)
  • PM Vishwakarma Scheme, etc.

Representatives Mr. Sudhir Sidhu from RBI and Mr. Rasheed Lekhi from NABARD appreciated the banks’ performance during the meeting.

Summary:
The Additional Deputy Commissioner led the district-level Bankers’ Review Committee’s quarterly meeting, reviewing loan disbursements, defaults, and financial inclusion progress, and setting new targets for the upcoming quarter.
