Batala, 3 July 2025 :– The Punjab government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, is committed to the welfare of the state’s weaker and underprivileged sections. Loans taken by families belonging to the Scheduled Caste (SC) community have been waived.
Sharing this information, Punjab’s Working President and Batala MLA Amansher Singh Sherry Kalsi stated that the Punjab government is extending help to the needy and underprivileged sections of society.
MLA Sherry Kalsi said that the state government is ensuring maximum welfare for the people so that every section of society can benefit. For the first time in the history of Punjab, such relief has been provided to the backward and weaker sections. He said this has been made possible because, for the first time, the state’s budget has been allocated for the welfare of the common man. He added that the state government is spending every single penny of the public treasury for public welfare.
MLA Sherry Kalsi further informed that the Punjab Scheduled Castes Land Development and Finance Corporation (PSCFC) has waived loans disbursed up to March 31, 2020. He said this waiver applies to all loans disbursed by PSCFC until the mentioned date, providing much-needed relief to SC and differently-abled borrowers. He added that the state government has already issued ‘No Dues’ certificates to these beneficiaries. He also mentioned that the full amount, including principal, interest, and penalty interest, calculated up to April 30, 2025, will be repaid to PSCFC by the Punjab government.
