Heavy Rain Alert in Punjab’s Four Districts for Next 24 Hours

Punjab 9 July 2025  : A major weather update has come from Punjab. The Meteorological Department has issued a warning of rain accompanied by thunder and lightning at several places today. Along with this, the next 24 hours are very crucial for Punjab. The weather department has also issued an alert for 4 districts in the state.

The flood warning in Himachal is also impacting Punjab. In the past 24 hours, the state’s average maximum temperature has dropped by 0.4°C, which is 2.1°C below normal. The weather department has issued a heavy rainfall alert for four districts in Punjab: Pathankot, Hoshiarpur, Nawanshahr, and Rupnagar.

These districts are likely to experience heavy rainfall along with thunder and lightning. Additionally, Gurdaspur, Jalandhar, Amritsar, Kapurthala, Ludhiana, Fatehgarh Sahib, Mohali, Patiala, and Sangrur may also see thunder and lightning. Meanwhile, Gurdaspur, Hoshiarpur, Pathankot, Nawanshahr, Rupnagar, Patiala, Fatehgarh Sahib, and Mohali are likely to witness rainfall.

According to the weather department, on July 10, there is a high possibility of heavy rainfall with thunderstorms in Pathankot, Hoshiarpur, Nawanshahr, and Rupnagar districts. People in these districts are advised to stay extra cautious tomorrow as waterlogging on roads due to heavy rain may cause inconvenience.

Summary:
An orange alert is active in Pathankot, Gurdaspur, Amritsar, and Hoshiarpur, with very heavy rain (120 mm+) expected today. Thunderstorms and lightning may impact daily life and flood-prone areas.
