Faridkot, 19 Aug 2025 : District Magistrate Faridkot, Ms. Poonamdeep Kaur, exercising the powers conferred under Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita 2023, has issued orders that all hotels and restaurants operating in District Faridkot must obtain a No Objection Certificate (NOC).
According to the issued orders, she stated that hotel and restaurant owners must first obtain NOCs from the concerned departments such as the Senior Superintendent of Police, Executive Engineer (Provincial Division Water Supply & Sanitation Branch), Public Works Department, District Town Planner, concerned Sub-Divisional Magistrate/Municipal Councils, and Fire Officers, after which the required permission will be granted.
Hotel and restaurant owners must submit their applications to the competent authority within 15 days from the publication of this notice, so that an appropriate decision may be taken. A copy of the NOC must be displayed prominently in the hotel, marriage palace, or restaurant. After the issuance of this order, any hotel or restaurant that fails to obtain an NOC from the competent authority will be closed down.
She further stated that newly constructed hotels or restaurants must obtain the required NOC within 15 days immediately. In case the certificate is not obtained, all work will be stopped. Additionally, for public safety, annual inspections will be conducted from time to time.
As per the orders, hotels, restaurants, or new constructions often have several technical shortcomings, which can pose risks to the public and may lead to loss of life and property. These orders shall remain in effect until October 14, 2025.
