Deputy Commissioner inspects relief center at Maujam; 6 flood relief camps established

Fazilka, 28 Aug 2025: The Fazilka district administration has set up six relief camps for the temporary shelter of flood-affected people. This information was shared by Fazilka Deputy Commissioner Amarpree t Kaur Sandhu during her visit to the relief camp established at the Government School in village Maujam. She said that apart from Maujam, relief camps have also been set up at Hastan Kalan, Salem Shah, Rana, Sant Kabir Polytechnic College Fazilka, and Asaf Wala.

The Deputy Commissioner informed that currently, 25 people have taken shelter in these camps. She assured that in case of any emergency, people can reach these relief centers. She also reviewed the facilities being provided at the camps and stated that a senior officer has been appointed in charge of each camp to ensure that there are no shortcomings in the arrangements.

SSP Gurmeet Singh, who accompanied her, said that proper security arrangements have also been made at the relief camps.

On this occasion, Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Dr. Mandeep Kaur, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Development) Subhash Chander, SDM Virpal Kaur, and Executive Officer of Municipal Council Fazilka Vikram Dhooria were also present.
