Punjab Floods: Meteorological Department Issues Fresh Rainfall Update and Warning

4 Sep 2025 : A new update has come regarding the weather in flood-affected Punjab. According to the latest forecast issued by the Meteorological Department, no rainfall alert has been issued for September 4, 5, 6, and 7.

As per the department, an Orange Alert has been issued for Pathankot, Gurdaspur, Hoshiarpur, Nawanshahr, Rupnagar, Mohali, and Fatehgarh Sahib districts. Meanwhile, Yellow Alert will remain in Amritsar, Kapurthala, Jalandhar, Ludhiana, and Patiala, with the possibility of heavy rainfall in these districts. In addition, other districts may witness light to moderate rainfall, along with strong winds.

It is also worth mentioning that yesterday, the Meteorological Department had issued a Red Alert in Pathankot, Hoshiarpur, Kapurthala, Nawanshahr, Rupnagar, Mohali, Fatehgarh Sahib, and Ludhiana. Apart from these, an Orange Alert was declared in the remaining districts.
