District Magistrate Announces New Orders Imposing Various Restrictions in District

Hoshiarpur, 9 Sep 2025 : District Magistrate Ashika Jain, exercising powers under Section 163 of the Indian Citizen Security Code, 2023, has issued orders regarding various restrictions within the district.

As per these orders, owners of poultry farms, rice shellers, kilns, and other small-scale industries, along with employers and individuals working under them, are required to maintain a register at their residences containing the names, full addresses, and three photographs (right, left, and front poses) of their employees, as well as the addresses of all their relatives. Employers must also take fingerprints of their employees in the register and immediately submit this record to the concerned local police station or outpost. Similarly, house/shop owners, occupants, and in-charge persons are instructed to submit the names and full addresses of individuals staying in any rented or future rented premises to the local police station or outpost without delay.

The District Magistrate has also imposed a ban on cutting green mango, neem, peepal, and bohr trees in delisted areas within the district. If cutting of these trees becomes necessary under special circumstances, it can only be done with prior approval from the Forest Department, following the procedure used for granting permits under Sections 4 and 5 of the Punjab Land Security Act, 1900. Outside delisted areas, prior approval must be obtained from the office of the Deputy Commissioner of Hoshiarpur before cutting these trees.

Furthermore, the District Magistrate has ordered a complete ban on delivering hate speeches against any community during public gatherings, religious places, weddings, or other events. Violators will face strict legal action.

Another order prohibits any individual from allowing people to bathe or animals to drink water from canals, small or large irrigation channels, and embankments along the Beas river within the district. Additionally, grazing animals openly on roads or in public places is strictly prohibited.

The District Magistrate has also imposed a complete ban on burning crops within a 1,000-gaz (914-meter) perimeter around the outer boundary of the 18-Ammunition Depot, Uchi Bassi, Tehsil Dasuha, Hoshiarpur district.

All the above orders will remain in effect until 7 November 2025.

Summary : The District Magistrate has issued official orders enforcing multiple restrictions across the district to ensure public safety, maintain order, and regulate activities effectively during the period.
