Bathinda 12 Sep 2025 : A shocking incident took place today in Jida village of Bathinda district, when two powerful explosions occurred. According to reports, 19-year-old Gurpreet Singh, a law student from the village, had ordered some items online and started experimenting with them. During this, the first blast took place. Gurpreet was seriously injured in the accident, and his arms were badly burnt. He was immediately admitted to a private hospital.
A little later, when Gurpreet’s father, Jagtar Singh, was collecting the same items, another explosion occurred. In this blast, Jagtar Singh’s eyes were badly burnt, and he too was admitted to the hospital. SSP Amneet Kondal stated that after receiving information from the hospital, the police immediately reached the spot. The area was cordoned off, and bomb disposal squads along with forensic teams began investigations. The police have also sought help from the Army in this matter.
In the preliminary investigation, there is suspicion that dangerous substances like RDX or potassium-based explosives might have been used in the blasts. However, official confirmation will only come after the forensic report. Following the incident, not only the village but the entire area is gripped with panic and fear.
