Toyota Cuts Prices on Fortuner, Innova Crysta & Hycross by Up to ₹3.49 Lakh

12 Sep 2025 : In a major relief for SUV and MPV buyers, Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) has announced significant price cuts across its popular models — Fortuner, Innova Crysta, and Innova Hycross — following the recent GST rate revisions on automobiles. The move could make these segment-leading vehicles more attractive ahead of the upcoming festive season.

According to the company, the price cut ranges up to ₹3.49 lakh, depending on the model and variant. This comes after the government announced a rationalization of GST slabs for utility vehicles and multi-purpose vehicles (MPVs), aimed at boosting demand and supporting the auto industry.

Revised Prices and Market Impact

The Fortuner, Toyota’s flagship SUV and a long-time favorite among Indian buyers, has seen the highest price reduction, with select variants becoming cheaper by nearly ₹3.49 lakh. The Innova Crysta, known for its strong presence in the MPV segment, has received a cut of around ₹1.5–₹2 lakh, while the newer Innova Hycross also gets a substantial price drop, making hybrid technology more affordable for families and fleet operators.

Dealers expect a surge in inquiries and bookings following this announcement.

“This is the perfect timing, right before the festive season. Lower prices will definitely boost footfall and could potentially shorten waiting periods for popular models,” said a Delhi-based Toyota dealer.

Industry Reactions

Auto industry experts believe Toyota’s move will put pressure on competitors like Mahindra, Tata, and MG Motor to follow suit with similar price adjustments. The Fortuner and Innova series have long dominated their respective segments, and these price revisions could help Toyota further consolidate its market share.

“The SUV and MPV market is highly price-sensitive, and any significant cost reduction can trigger a demand spike. With GST cuts, we expect overall sales in the utility vehicle segment to rise by 10–12% this quarter,” said an auto analyst.

Customer Benefits

For customers, this price reduction translates to more accessible ownership of premium vehicles that were previously considered aspirational purchases. The price cut also lowers the on-road cost significantly, which means savings on registration and insurance premiums.

Broader Economic Impact

The price slash is in line with the government’s effort to revive demand in the auto sector, which is a key contributor to India’s GDP and employment generation. Industry observers believe such measures could accelerate the overall recovery of the automobile market, which has been facing fluctuating demand post-pandemic.

What’s Next?

With the festive season around the corner, Toyota is also expected to announce attractive financing schemes and exchange offers to complement the price cut. Buyers are advised to check with dealerships for variant-wise price details and updated delivery timelines.

Summary:
Toyota slashes prices of Fortuner, Innova Crysta, and Hycross by up to ₹3.49 lakh after GST rate cuts, boosting affordability ahead of festive season and sparking demand surge in SUV and MPV segments.
