Chandigarh 16 Sep 2025 : In a noble act of unity and compassion to serve humanity, the teachers and staff of government senior secondary schools in Ludhiana district have collectively contributed ₹31,53,000 to the Punjab Chief Minister’s Flood Relief Fund, which will strengthen the ongoing flood relief efforts in the state.
This collective contribution was formally presented today to Punjab School Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains at Nangal by a delegation of teachers led by District Education Officer (Secondary), Ludhiana, Dimple Madan. The teachers’ delegation also included Deputy DEO Amandeep Singh, State Sports Committee member Mr. Ajit Pal, and Physics lecturer Dinesh Modi.
Praising this initiative of the teachers, Harjot Singh Bains said, “This special contribution by our teachers reflects their compassion and commitment towards society. By contributing to the state’s relief efforts, teachers have proven that beyond the classroom too, they are dedicated to society, and this unity will play a vital role in providing relief and rehabilitation to those affected by floods.” The Education Minister added that this noble gesture highlights teachers as the pillars of society. He further said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, the Punjab government is fully committed to supporting the people affected by the floods.
