Mansa 30 September 2025 :District Magistrate-cum-Deputy Commissioner Navjot Kaur (IAS) informed that the Director of Industries and Commerce Department, Punjab, under the provisions of the Explosives Act 2008, will issue temporary licenses for the sale of firecrackers on the occasion of Diwali, Gurpurab, and New Year. The related guidelines have already been issued.
She stated that those interested in obtaining a temporary license can submit their applications from September 30, 2025, to October 16, 2025, by 5 PM. While applying, the applicants must deposit the required fee according to the prescribed ratio (60:40), attach a copy of the challan and a self-declaration, and submit it through service centers to the office of the concerned Sub-Divisional Magistrate.
The District Magistrate said that any applications received after the prescribed date will not be accepted. She further informed that the selection process from the received applications will be carried out in a completely transparent manner. Therefore, temporary licenses will be issued through a “Draw of Lots” on October 13, 2025, at 3 PM in the office of the District Magistrate, Mansa.
She appealed to the interested candidates to complete and submit their applications within the given time so that their participation in the licensing process can be ensured. At the same time, people were also urged to strictly follow the safety rules during the sale and use of firecrackers.
