This decision will help athletes recover faster in case of injuries and improve their performance. It will also promote the development of sports through scientific methods in line with national standards. These professionals will be posted in key sports districts such as Patiala, Sangrur, Bathinda, Faridkot, Fazilka, Ludhiana, Amritsar, Gurdaspur, Jalandhar, Mohali, Ropar, and Hoshiarpur, where the number of players is relatively high.

100-bed ESI Hospital to be established
To provide better healthcare facilities to employees working in factories and industrial units in Dera Bassi and nearby areas, the Cabinet has also approved the allotment of approximately four acres of land on lease for the establishment of a 100-bed ESI hospital in Dera Bassi. At present, workers from Dera Bassi and nearby industrial zones depend on ESI facilities in Ludhiana, Mohali, and Chandigarh. This move will reduce the patient load on existing ESI hospitals and promote industrial welfare and social security in Punjab’s industrial regions.

The Punjab government, led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, has made a significant announcement aimed at supporting and promoting sportspersons in the state through new incentives and development programs.
