Punjab weather alert issued as November begins with major climate change signs

Chandigarh October 31, 2025  : Even before the start of November, Punjab’s weather has begun to change — signaling that the cold will intensify in the early days of the month.

According to the Meteorological Centre, a new Western Disturbance is becoming active over North India, and its mild impact is now visible in Punjab as well. Weather experts say that in the coming days, the effect of cold winds will increase across the state, temperatures will drop, and there is a possibility of fog in several areas.

As per the latest report from the Meteorological Department, the night temperature in many districts of the state may fall by up to 2 degrees Celsius in the next four to five days. This will make the mornings and evenings noticeably cooler. Regions like Amritsar, Jalandhar, Ludhiana, Bathinda, and Ferozepur have already started experiencing fog, accompanied by cold morning breezes. In rural areas, people have begun wearing light warm clothes during mornings and evenings.

Weather experts have advised people to be cautious about their health. In particular, elderly people and children are urged to wear warm clothes and avoid exposure to the early morning chill due to the sudden drop in temperature. It now appears that winter has officially arrived in Punjab, and the cold is expected to intensify in the coming days.

Summary :
Meteorological Department warns Punjab may face sudden temperature drops and rainfall in early November, urging farmers and residents to prepare for possible cold wave conditions.
