Amazon Surprises Customers: Fast Delivery Now in Just Minutes!

Amazon

New Delhi, December 11, 2024 (Navroze Bureau) – E-commerce giant Amazon has given a big gift to its customers. Now Amazon will deliver the ordered goods to its customers’ homes in just 15 minutes. For this, Amazon is going to launch its new service ‘Tez’ in January 2025, which will be a big leap in the field of fast delivery. This announcement was made by Sameer Kumar, head of Amazon India, at the fifth edition of the Amazon SMBhav Summit held in Delhi.

Daily needs will be fulfilled in 15 minutes
Sameer Kumar said that this service has been designed on the basis of Amazon’s three main principles – convenience, selection, and value. ‘Tez’ aims to deliver daily essentials such as groceries, household products, and personal care items to customers’ doorsteps within 15 minutes. This service will take full advantage of Amazon’s existing infrastructure.

Partnership with local grocery stores
Sameer said that ‘Tez’ is not just about faster delivery, but it is also a step to include local grocery stores in Amazon’s ecosystem. These stores will work as hyperlocal partners, which will help in faster delivery of Amazon and development of local communities.

Effort to provide fast service across India
Sameer said that initially this service will be started in some big cities, but Amazon’s target is to spread it across India. He said, “This is not just for metro cities, we want to take it to every corner of India.”

Stepping into India’s $5 billion Cubic Commerce market
India’s Cubic Commerce market is expected to reach $5 billion by 2025, and Amazon is gearing up to tap the fast-growing opportunities in this space. However, there are already competing players in this space such as Blinkit, Swiggy Instamart and Zepto. “Our approach has been deliberate. Whenever Amazon launches a service, it is scalable and the effort is to maintain the highest standards for customers,” said Sameer Kumar.

This is the difference between ‘Tez’ and ‘Amazon Fresh’
Sameer also clarified that there is no competition between ‘Tez’ and ‘Amazon Fresh’, rather ‘Tez’ will complement ‘Amazon Fresh’. ‘Amazon Fresh’ supplies fresh products to the customers, while ‘Tez’ will focus on fast delivery of daily essentials. Industry experts believe that Amazon’s entry into the cubic commerce sector is extremely important. They say that Amazon already has a strong customer base and inventory management efficiency, which will give it an edge in this competitive market.

However, with competitors like Blinkit, Zepto and Flipkart Minutes adopting innovative strategies like EMI options and 10-minute product exchange, it could be a challenge for Amazon. Experts say that Amazon will have to focus on additional features and affordable options in its service apart from fast delivery to make a mark in the market. Amazon’s ‘Tez’ can now bring a new revolution in the cubic commerce market, and it remains to be seen how successful this service is for Indian consumers.
