November 17, 2025 : The Superintendent of Police (SP) of Haryana’s Jind district has taken major action. Following an increase in stubble-burning incidents, the SP has suspended 10 police personnel. These officials were not taking the issue seriously.
A spokesperson for the Jind Police stated that in view of the rising incidents of stubble burning, the district police is taking strict action. Under the clear instructions of Jind SP Kuldeep Singh, and following a zero-tolerance policy, 10 police personnel have been suspended with immediate effect. In sensitive matters such as environmental protection, the police cannot tolerate any negligence, which is why strict action has been taken.
It is noteworthy that several recent cases of stubble burning were reported in the district’s beat areas. Village residents had already been warned. Police teams from Uchana Police Station, Garhi Police Station, and other station jurisdictions had been visiting villages for several days, advising farmers on this issue. Despite this, stubble-burning continued in some areas, leading to this decision.
Jind SP Kuldeep Singh clearly stated that in the future, strict action will be taken against any officer found negligent in duty. Harsh legal action will be taken — without any leniency — against those found burning stubble. The priorities of the Jind district police are environmental protection, public safety, and maintaining law and order. Stubble burning not only harms the environment but is also a punishable offense. The Jind Police appeals to the public to cooperate in this effort to protect the environment and avoid stubble burning.
