Hyderabad, January 26, 2026 (Navroze Bureau) : The Telugu-dubbed version of the acclaimed film “Shudra to Khalsa” was officially released on Sunday at Guru Gobind Singh Nagar, Madanapally, Hyderabad, in the presence of thousands of Banjara Sikh community members.
The release event witnessed a large public gathering, reflecting strong community support and enthusiasm for the film, which highlights the historical and social journey of marginalized communities within Sikh history.
The movie was formally launched by Advocate Gurlad Singh Kahlon, former member of DSGMC and a petitioner in the 1984 Sikh genocide case before the Supreme Court of India.
Addressing the gathering, Sardar Kahlon emphasized the importance of reclaiming suppressed histories and presenting them to wider audiences through cinema.
The event was presided over by Sardar Jeevan Singh, National President of the Bahujan Dravida Party, who spoke on the relevance of the film in contemporary socio-political discourse.
The Telugu dubbing of the movie was generously sponsored by Harjeev Singh Kandhari, enabling the film to reach audiences in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
The programme was organised by Banjara Sikhs, under the aegis of Gurdwara Saheb Dashmesh Darbar, with active participation from community leaders including Lakhwinder Singh and Bagat Singh.
Community members described the event as a historic moment for Banjara Sikhs, marking wider recognition of their identity, history, and cultural contribution through regional cinema.
