A vibrant event dedicated to Teeyan, the traditional Punjabi festival celebrated during the month of Sawan, was organised with great enthusiasm in Satirwala village. Madam Khushbu Sawna, wife of Fazilka MLA Shri Narinder Pal Singh Sawna, attended the event as a special guest.
Upon her arrival in the village, Madam Khushbu Sawna was warmly welcomed by the villagers and women with flowers and Giddha performances. On the occasion, women and girls from the village dressed in colourful traditional attire, performed Giddha, sang folk songs, and enjoyed swings as part of the festivities.
Madam Khushbu Sawna extended her warm wishes to all the women on the occasion of Teeyan. She said that Teeyan is a symbol of Punjabi culture, togetherness, and mutual love and harmony. She encouraged the women of the village to participate actively in social initiatives and called upon them to support the “Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao” (Save the Daughter, Educate the Daughter) campaign.
Madam Sawna also shared information about various schemes being implemented for the safety and empowerment of women and girls.
The villagers thanked Madam Khushbu Sawna for visiting their village and said that her presence had boosted their morale.
