Director Census Operations, Punjab Reviews Preparation for Census 2027 Phase-II in SAS Nagar

SAS Nagar, 17 August 2026:

A review meeting on the preparations for Census 2027: Phase-II – Population Enumeration in District SAS Nagar was chaired by Dr. Navjot Khosa, IAS, Director Census Operations, Punjab, today at District Administrative Complex, Mohali.

The meeting was attended by Smt. Komal Mittal, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, SAS Nagar, Sundeep Singh, PCS, Municipal Commissioner, SAS Nagar, ADC, SDMs along with all concerned officers, Charge Officers, and other officials associated with Census work.

During the meeting, the Director Census appreciated the dedicated efforts of the Charge Officers and field staff for their commendable performance in carrying out Phase-I Census operations efficiently.

Emphasizing the importance of timely completion of all assigned tasks, she directed the officers to understand the importance of efficient planning. She also stressed the need for an advanced/ tactful planning and effective coordination among all stakeholders to achieve the targets within the stipulated timeframe.

Appreciating the HLO (House Listing Operation) Census work especially in the high-priority charges of the district and Municipal Corporation, the Director commended the district administration and Census functionaries for their commitment and hard work. She expressed confidence that the district would successfully complete all Census-related activities for the second phase of Census.

The Director Census Operations instructed the Principal Census Officers and Census Officers to remain fully prepared for the second phase of Census.

Smt. Komal Mittal, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, SAS Nagar assured that all Census-related activities in District SAS Nagar would be completed well within the stipulated timeframe. It was conveyed by the district authorities that the district administration shall make all necessary efforts to ensure the successful and timely completion of the exercise.

The Deputy Commissioner further assured that the district administration and Municipal Corporation remain committed to conducting the Census operations efficiently and in accordance with the prescribed guidelines to ensure collection of accurate and reliable data.

A detailed plan on the roadmap for the timely and smooth completion of Population Enumeration Phase-II of Census 2027 was discussed in the meeting.
