24 Aug 2026 (Navroze Bureau) : Actor Yash halted the pre-release event of his upcoming film Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups in Hyderabad after a speaker stand collapsed, injuring four people. The incident occurred at Malla Reddy University in Medchal during the packed event on Saturday night.
Speaker Stand Collapses During Event
According to Cyberabad Police, some young fans had climbed onto a sound-system stand to get a better view of the stage when the structure suddenly gave way.
Four people were injured and taken to a nearby hospital. Police said one student suffered a leg fracture, while three others sustained minor injuries.
Yash Stops Speech to Check on Fans
Yash was on stage addressing the audience when he noticed the commotion. He immediately stopped his speech and asked organisers and security personnel to check on those who had been injured.
The actor reportedly asked whether everyone was safe before continuing with the event.
Actor Warns Fans About Safety
Yash later noticed other students attempting to climb onto structures around the venue to get a better view.
He again interrupted his speech and asked them to come down, warning that it was dangerous. The actor waited for confirmation that the situation was under control before resuming.
Police Register Case Against Organisers
Cyberabad Police have registered a case against the venue management and event manager following the incident.
Authorities said there was no stampede and no grievous injury reported. The investigation will examine the circumstances surrounding the collapse and the safety arrangements at the event.

Despite the incident, the film’s release plans remain unchanged.
Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups, directed by Geetu Mohandas, is scheduled to release worldwide on August 26, 2026, in multiple languages including Kannada, Telugu, Tamil, Hindi, Malayalam and English.
