25 Aug 2026 (Navroze Bureau) : German luxury carmaker Porsche AG has signed a five-year strategic partnership with Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) worth €1.25 billion, or about $1.5 billion, to accelerate the use of artificial intelligence across its business.
AI to Transform Porsche Operations
Under the agreement, TCS will establish a dedicated AI Mobility Centre of Excellence for Porsche.
The centre will focus on deploying AI across key areas including engineering, manufacturing, operations and customer experience, with the aim of turning AI applications into secure, scalable solutions.
TCS to Acquire Porsche’s IT Consulting Arm
As part of the broader arrangement, TCS will acquire 100% of MHP Management- und IT-Beratung GmbH, Porsche’s Germany-based management and IT consulting subsidiary.
The transaction values MHP at an enterprise value of €320 million ($373 million) and remains subject to regulatory and competition approvals.
Why MHP Matters
MHP specialises in automotive and industrial consulting, business transformation, AI, SAP, manufacturing digitalisation and connected mobility.
The company employs more than 4,500 people worldwide and has worked with Porsche for more than three decades.
Porsche Focuses on Core Business
Porsche said transferring MHP to TCS is part of its strategy to focus more firmly on its core sports-car business.
At the same time, the automaker expects the partnership with TCS to strengthen its digital capabilities, improve efficiency and support innovation as the automotive industry becomes increasingly software- and data-driven.
TCS Expands Its European Automotive Footprint
For TCS, the deal offers an opportunity to deepen its presence in Europe’s automotive and manufacturing technology market.
The combination of TCS’s global AI, engineering and technology capabilities with MHP’s automotive expertise is expected to create a stronger consulting and digital-transformation platform.
AI-Powered Mobility in Focus
The partnership comes as automakers increasingly rely on artificial intelligence, software and data to develop vehicles and modernise manufacturing.
TCS and Porsche plan to use AI across the value chain, including intelligent manufacturing, engineering and customer-facing functions, supporting the shift towards software-defined mobility.
Deal Still Needs Regulatory Approval
The MHP acquisition and strategic partnership are subject to customary regulatory and competition approvals.
The acquisition is expected to close in the coming months, according to Porsche and TCS.
A Major AI and Automotive Partnership
The agreement represents a significant expansion of TCS’s relationship with the automotive sector while giving Porsche a large technology partner for its AI and digital-transformation plans.
The deal also highlights how traditional automakers are increasingly turning to major technology companies to accelerate AI adoption.
