1 September 2026 (Navroze Bureau) : Prime Minister Narendra Modi has renewed his appeal to Indians to prioritise local products and services, avoid unnecessary foreign travel and overseas destination weddings, and purchase gold only when necessary.
In a message highlighting India’s recent 7.8% GDP growth, Modi said greater reliance on domestic goods and services would strengthen the country’s economy and support the broader goal of self-reliance.
