Amargarh/Malerkotla, September 8:
As part of a sensitive initiative aimed at further strengthening the bond of trust between the police and the general public, DSP Amargarh Sanjeev Kapoor counselled a person who had become disillusioned with life and encouraged him to return to life with a positive outlook.
Taking notice of the matter that came to light on social media, the police contacted the concerned individual. The DSP listened to him patiently and empathetically and explained that during any difficult situation, instead of allowing despair to take over, a person should seek support from family, friends and relevant institutions. Timely communication and proper guidance can provide a new direction during difficult circumstances.
The DSP said that under the leadership of SSP Malerkotla Shri Harkamalpreet Singh Khakh, the district police is working to strengthen not only the sense of security among the people but also their trust in the police. The doors of the police are open to ordinary citizens, and there is no need to hesitate or be afraid to approach the police regarding any legitimate problem.
He said that wearing a police uniform does not merely mean enforcing the law; it also means listening to a person facing a crisis, encouraging them and guiding them towards all possible assistance within the framework of the law. People can approach the police administration without hesitation regarding their legitimate concerns.
The DSP specifically conveyed a message to young people that no difficulty in life is greater than life itself. Instead of facing difficult times alone, they should share their feelings with their loved ones and seek professional assistance whenever necessary.
He said, “Do not distance yourself from the police; establish dialogue. Listening to you is also our responsibility.”
With this humane and people-oriented approach, efforts are being made to further strengthen the bond of trust between the police and citizens
