Under the Chief Minister’s Pilgrimage Scheme being run by the Punjab Government to facilitate devotees in visiting religious places, buses carrying pilgrims for religious tours were flagged off today from Mahain, Mathura and Gajpur Bela. Cabinet Minister Harjot Singh Bains flagged off the buses. A large number of local residents, devotees and prominent personalities were present on the occasion.
Cabinet Minister Harjot Singh Bains said that the Punjab Government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, has undertaken this initiative to facilitate people in visiting religious places. He said the government’s objective is to ensure that people who are unable to travel to religious places located far away due to financial constraints can also visit these pilgrimage sites with their families. He added that arrangements are made to provide the necessary facilities to devotees during the journey, keeping their convenience and religious sentiments in mind.
On the occasion, the devotees embarking on the pilgrimage thanked the Punjab Government and said that the initiative by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann and Cabinet Minister Harjot Singh Bains to provide buses for visits to religious places is highly appreciable. They said that many elderly people and other devotees were unable to travel to distant religious places due to financial and other constraints, but this government scheme is helping fulfil their long-cherished wish.
The devotees said that the availability of bus services for the pilgrimage is providing them an opportunity to visit religious places in a safe and convenient manner. They said the journey is not only significant from a religious perspective but also provides an opportunity for people from different areas to interact with one another and strengthen mutual bonds and social harmony. The devotees displayed great enthusiasm while departing for the pilgrimage.
On the occasion, Cabinet Minister Harjot Singh Bains extended his best wishes to the devotees embarking on the pilgrimage and urged them to pray for the prosperity, peace and progress of the state and the region after paying obeisance at the religious places. He said that the Punjab Government respects the religious sentiments of the people and is committed to continuing such initiatives aimed at public welfare.
