Kharar (SAS Nagar), October 1, 2026: As part of a special initiative undertaken by the Punjab Government to commemorate the 650th Prakash Purab of Sri Guru Ravidas Ji Maharaj, a special 30-minute documentary film was screened through LED screens in the villages of Badarpur and Kalewal in Kharar block.
The objective of the initiative is to disseminate information among the people about the life, teachings, philosophy and message of social equality of Sri Guru Ravidas Ji Maharaj.
Deputy Commissioner Ms. Komal Mittal said that through his Bani and teachings, Sri Guru Ravidas Ji Maharaj conveyed the message of equality, mutual brotherhood, love, harmony and service to humanity. His teachings continue to inspire society and encourage people to build a society where every individual receives equal respect and rights.
She said that the Punjab Government’s initiative to prepare this special documentary to commemorate the 650th Prakash Purab of Guru Ji is significant, as it is helping people in villages and cities learn about his life and philosophy. The screening of the film through LED screens provides people with an opportunity to understand Guru Ji’s message and incorporate his teachings into their lives.
The Deputy Commissioner said that the philosophy of Sri Guru Ravidas Ji Maharaj provides guidance for eliminating social evils such as caste discrimination, inequality and social divisions. She said that everyone should follow the path shown by Guru Ji and strengthen the spirit of mutual harmony, brotherhood and equality in society.
The Deputy Commissioner appealed to people to watch the special documentary and make the great teachings of Sri Guru Ravidas Ji Maharaj a part of their lives.
