Public Urged to Follow Traffic Rules; Malerkotla Residents Advised Against Commercial Use of Agricultural Vehicles

Malerkotla, October 6:

A special checking campaign was conducted in Malerkotla district under the leadership of Regional Transport Officer (RTO) Karanbir Singh Chhina to ensure strict compliance with road safety regulations and prevent road accidents. During the drive, strict action was taken against makeshift, unauthorized and rule-violating vehicles, with challans issued and vehicles impounded.

Regional Transport Officer Karanbir Singh Chhina said that makeshift carts, Peter Rehras and other unauthorized vehicles are prohibited from operating on roads. Such vehicles not only violate traffic regulations but can also pose a serious threat to the safety of other motorists and the general public.

He appealed to residents to strictly follow traffic rules and refrain from using vehicles meant for agricultural purposes for commercial activities. He said tractors, tractor-trolleys and other agricultural vehicles should be used only for their designated agricultural purposes.

RTO Karanbir Singh Chhina said that the checking campaign against vehicles violating road safety and traffic regulations would continue in the district. He said strict action would be taken against violators in accordance with the law.

He also appealed to the general public to follow traffic rules for their own safety as well as the safety of others and to cooperate with the administration in ensuring road safety.
