Batala, October 8:
Punjab Working President and MLA Sherry Kalsi distributed property cards to beneficiaries at village Taragarh under the ‘Mera Ghar-Mere Naam’ scheme launched by the Punjab Government to provide property rights to residents living within the Lal Lakir.
Congratulating the beneficiaries at the event, MLA Sherry Kalsi said that the primary objective of the ‘Mera Ghar-Mere Naam’ scheme, launched by the Punjab Government under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, is to provide ownership rights to every eligible family residing within the Lal Lakir across Punjab. He said the scheme would prove to be a milestone in this direction.
He said that many families in Punjab’s villages have been living within the Lal Lakir for decades but faced numerous difficulties due to the absence of formal ownership records. The scheme has addressed such longstanding problems at their root.
He said the people-oriented initiative has further strengthened the dignity and security of residents living within the Lal Lakir. With formal ownership rights, people will have greater confidence to maintain and improve their homes and plan for their future. They will also be able to buy and sell their properties, while complete details of their properties will now be recorded in the records of the Revenue Department.
The beneficiaries who received property cards thanked the Punjab Government, saying that receiving formal ownership documents has strengthened their rights and dignity and will make a valuable contribution to their overall development and progress in the future.
