23 October 2026 (Navroze Bureau) Rajinikanth’s Jailer 2 has crossed the ₹600 crore mark at the worldwide box office within eight days of its theatrical release. The action drama, directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, has continued to attract audiences in India and overseas, although its domestic collections witnessed a noticeable decline on the eighth day.
According to trade estimates reported by Sacnilk, Jailer 2 recorded a worldwide gross collection of approximately ₹606.05 crore by Day 8. Its India net collection reached ₹334.35 crore, while the domestic gross stood at ₹391.55 crore. Overseas markets contributed an estimated ₹214.50 crore to the film’s worldwide total.
The film collected approximately ₹17.15 crore net in India on Thursday, October 22, across 13,241 shows. This represented a decline of around 39.1 per cent compared with Wednesday’s reported net collection of ₹28.15 crore. Despite the slowdown, the film’s overall box office performance has remained strong enough to take it past the ₹600 crore worldwide milestone.
Tamil Version Leads Day 8 Collections
The Tamil version continued to contribute the largest share of the film’s domestic earnings. It reportedly collected ₹10.75 crore net on Day 8 from 5,883 shows. The Telugu version added approximately ₹3.60 crore from 2,085 shows, while the Hindi version earned around ₹2.40 crore across 5,095 shows.
The Kannada version contributed an estimated ₹40 lakh from 178 shows. These figures indicate that the film continued to draw audiences across its multiple language versions, with Tamil screenings remaining its biggest domestic contributor.
However, the latest daily figures also indicate that the film’s momentum has moderated after its strong opening week. Box office collections can fluctuate depending on weekday attendance, screen availability, audience occupancy and competition from other releases.
Strong Opening Week Helped Build the Total
Jailer 2 opened in cinemas on October 15, 2026, and recorded a substantial opening-day collection. It maintained strong earnings through its opening weekend before experiencing changes in daily collections during the following week.
The film’s reported India net earnings rose steadily during its initial run, supported by demand for Rajinikanth’s action-packed screen presence and the popularity of the original Jailer. Its overseas performance has also played an important role in pushing the worldwide gross beyond ₹600 crore.
International markets contributed approximately ₹214.50 crore by Day 8, according to the reported estimates. This overseas business represents a significant share of the film’s worldwide earnings and has helped sustain its overall box office performance despite the decline in domestic daily collections.
Rajinikanth Returns as Muthuvel Pandian
Directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, Jailer 2 continues the story of retired jailer Tiger Muthuvel Pandian, played by Rajinikanth. The character is drawn back into a dangerous confrontation with the criminal underworld as threats emerge against his family and the life he has tried to protect.
The sequel features Ramya Krishnan, Yogi Babu, Vinayakan, Vidya Balan, S. J. Suryah and Suraj Venjaramoodu, alongside prominent appearances by actors including Mohanlal, Shiva Rajkumar, Jackie Shroff and Hrithik Roshan. Anirudh Ravichander has composed the film’s music.
The combination of Rajinikanth’s star appeal, action sequences and appearances by well-known actors has helped generate interest among audiences across different regions. Director Nelson Dilipkumar also acknowledged the audience response in a social media post, thanking viewers for their support.
Can Jailer 2 Continue Its Box Office Run?
Crossing ₹600 crore worldwide places Jailer 2 among the major commercial performers of the year, based on currently reported trade figures. Its next milestone will depend on how well it holds audience interest during its second week and beyond.
The decline in Day 8 domestic earnings suggests that the film is experiencing the usual fluctuations that can follow a strong opening period. However, its substantial overseas contribution and accumulated domestic business give it a strong base for its continuing theatrical run.
All collection figures are estimates compiled by trade trackers and media reports rather than a final audited statement from the film’s producers. Totals may differ between sources and can change as additional market data becomes available.
For now, Jailer 2 has achieved a major worldwide box office milestone, with Rajinikanth’s latest outing crossing ₹600 crore in gross earnings within eight days. The film’s performance over the coming days will determine how much further it can advance its worldwide total.
