23 October 2026 (Navroze Bureau) Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann has urged students to dream big, work hard and pursue their ambitions with honesty and determination. During an interaction with schoolchildren at the Punjab Vidhan Sabha complex in Chandigarh, he emphasised that talent, dedication and merit should play a decisive role in shaping young people’s futures.
The Chief Minister interacted with students from Guru Gobind Singh International School in Faridkot on October 22, 2026. The visit also gave students an opportunity to learn about the functioning of Punjab’s legislative assembly and understand how democratic institutions operate.
Addressing the students, Mann described young people as Punjab’s greatest strength and said providing them with opportunities, inspiration and a supportive environment was important for the state’s future.
CM Mann Encourages Students to Pursue Their Ambitions
During the interaction, Mann encouraged students to begin preparing for their career goals rather than waiting for the perfect moment. He referred to professions such as civil services, law, medicine and the armed forces, urging students to identify their ambitions and work consistently towards achieving them.
He said success depended not only on a person’s background but also on honesty, hard work and commitment. He also reminded students that temporary setbacks should not weaken their determination.
The Chief Minister shared experiences from his own life, including losing his first election. He explained that an initial failure did not have to mark the end of a journey and could instead provide an opportunity to learn, improve and return with greater determination.
APJ Abdul Kalam’s Message on Dreams
Mann also referred to former President Dr APJ Abdul Kalam while discussing the importance of having meaningful ambitions. He encouraged students not to become discouraged by examination results or early failures.
The message was aimed at motivating young people to remain focused on their goals even when they encounter difficulties. He stressed the importance of perseverance, discipline and continued effort in achieving long-term success.
The Chief Minister’s interaction highlighted the role of confidence and determination in helping students make informed decisions about their education and careers.
Students Learn About the Punjab Vidhan Sabha
The visit also focused on helping students understand the responsibilities of the Punjab Vidhan Sabha. Mann explained how bills are introduced, debated and passed into law, and how the state budget is considered and approved.
He told the students that legislative institutions belong to the people and that young citizens should understand how decisions affecting their lives are made.
The interaction was intended to familiarise students with the democratic process and the responsibilities of elected representatives. Understanding these institutions, he said, can help young people become more aware of their rights and their role as citizens.
The visit provided students with an opportunity to see the legislative complex and learn about the procedures through which laws and government policies are discussed.
Merit-Based Opportunities for Punjab’s Youth
Mann also emphasised the importance of creating opportunities in which young people can progress through their abilities and hard work rather than personal influence or recommendations.
He reiterated his government’s stated commitment to merit-based recruitment and said young people should have confidence that dedication and capability can help them build successful careers.
Access to education, fair recruitment and opportunities for professional development remain important concerns for young people preparing for competitive examinations and employment.
The Chief Minister said creating a progressive environment for the state’s youth was essential to Punjab’s development. His remarks focused on encouraging students to make use of available opportunities while remaining committed to their goals.
Message for Students
Concluding his interaction, Mann encouraged students to establish clear objectives, remain disciplined and continue working towards their ambitions despite challenges.
He stressed that examination results and initial setbacks should not define a person’s future. Instead, students should learn from their experiences and keep improving their abilities.
The visit combined career guidance with an introduction to the state’s legislative system. It also underlined the importance of helping young citizens understand public institutions and the processes through which government decisions are made.
Mann’s message to the students was to dream without fear, work with honesty and determination, and use their education and skills to build a better future for themselves and Punjab.
