Govt. Bank Launches 2 New Fixed Deposits with Key Details on Interest and Tenure

Chandigarh, January 3, 2025: Indians often invest a significant amount in Fixed Deposits (FDs) due to attractive interest rates and the absence of risk. To cater to this demand, both government and private banks regularly launch appealing FD schemes. Recently, Punjab National Bank has introduced two new FD schemes with tenures of 303 days and 506 days, allowing investments up to ₹3 crore.

Punjab National Bank’s new FD scheme offers 7% interest on a 303-day tenure and 6.7% on a 506-day tenure, effective from January 1, 2025. Senior citizens will receive higher interest rates, with 7.5% for the 303-day FD and 7.2% for the 506-day FD. Super senior citizens will get 7.85% for the 303-day FD and 7.5% for the 506-day FD.

For general customers, Punjab National Bank offers FD interest rates ranging from 3.50% to 7.25% for tenures between 7 days and 10 years. The highest interest rate of 7.25% is available on a 400-day FD. For senior citizens, the interest rates range from 4% to 7.75%, with the highest 7.75% available on a 400-day FD.

For super senior citizens (aged 80 and above), Punjab National Bank offers FD interest rates ranging from 4.30% to 8.05% for tenures between 7 days and 10 years. Currently, the bank offers the highest interest rate of 8.05% on a 400-day FD.

Summary: PNB offers FD interest rates from 4.30% to 8.05% for super senior citizens (80+ years), with the highest rate of 8.05% on a 400-day FD.
