Chandigarh, January 6, 2025: The state government has started preparations for wheat procurement at the support price. Farmers with wheat crops will begin bringing them to the market by the end of March. The wheat procurement process at the support price will begin on March 10, 2025. To avail this, farmers must first register online.
The online registration process started on January 1, 2025. Minimum support price (MSP) centers will be set up for wheat procurement. The government has set the MSP for wheat at ₹2,425 per quintal, with an additional bonus of ₹125 per quintal, totaling ₹2,550 per quintal for farmers. Farmers can register through the Food Department’s website.
Documents Required for Registration
To avail the benefits of this scheme, farmers must register online. The most important document for registration is the farmer’s Aadhaar card. If the farmer’s name or the names of family members are listed in the Girdawari (land records), they can proceed with the registration.
Before registration, the farmer must link their bank account with Aadhaar for receiving payments. Additionally, during registration, land details will be taken from the Revenue Department’s portal. If the farmer is not the owner of the land, they will need to upload a PDF copy of the Aadhaar card of the landowner, their own Aadhaar card, and a self-declaration letter regarding rented land, sharecropping, or working on a contract basis. The file size should not exceed 500 KB.
