Noida, January 16, 2025: The weather in North India, including Punjab, has changed drastically. Heavy rainfall occurred from Delhi-NCR to Punjab on Thursday morning. The weather department has forecasted that rain will continue for the next 24 hours. It was reported that dense fog, which was seen across Rajasthan, Haryana, and Bihar in the previous days, has now been relieved due to the rain. Uttar Pradesh is also experiencing severe cold. Additionally, dense fog is being observed in several districts during the morning and evening. Due to bad weather, orders have been issued to close all private and government schools up to the 8th grade in Uttar Pradesh. These orders have been issued by Basic Education Director Pratap Singh Baghel to all district education officers. The orders state that due to extreme cold and dense fog, schools up to 8th grade in all districts of the state will remain closed on Thursday and Friday.
Schools in Noida will remain closed for two days
According to the information, all schools in Gautam Buddha Nagar district, including Noida, will remain closed for two days for classes up to the 8th grade. The district elementary education officer issued the order stating that due to the bad weather and the implementation of GRAP-4, all schools from 1st to 8th grade will remain closed on January 16 and 17.
Schools in Varanasi closed until January 18
In Varanasi, the city of Lord Shiva, all schools from 1st to 8th grade will remain closed. Orders issued by the District Elementary Education Officer state that all schools under the CBSE, ICSE, and UP boards, including other boards, will remain closed until January 18. The education officer explained that the District Magistrate has declared a holiday for schools until January 18, 2025, due to the cold wave. However, teachers and principals will remain at school and continue working.
Schools in Baghpat also closed until January 18
In Baghpat district, all government and private schools will remain closed until January 18 due to severe cold. The District Magistrate has declared a holiday for all schools under the district’s councils, assisted, recognized, and other boards (from nursery to 8th grade) until January 18, 2025, considering the health of students.
