Punjab: 25 farmers face arrest in PM Modi’s security breach case; Section 307 added

Delhi, January 17, 2025 : Arrest warrants have been issued against 25 farmers in connection with a security lapse during Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Punjab visit on January 5, 2022. On that day, protesting farmers blocked PM Modi’s convoy on a road in Ferozepur, Punjab.

Punjab Police have added IPC Section 307 (attempt to murder) to the case. PM Modi was scheduled to address a rally in Ferozepur but had to return after members of farmer unions staged a protest on the Pyarayana flyover.
