Meeting Held on Registration of Service Providers

Bathinda, January 28: A meeting was held by Assistant Commissioner Raj Kar Madam Prabhdeep Kaur with the Bar Association and CA Association regarding the registration of service providers under the GST Act 2017 by the GST Department. During the meeting, the attendees were provided with necessary instructions.

During the meeting, Assistant Commissioner Raj Kar encouraged the association members to motivate service provider dealers with a turnover of more than 20 lakh to register under the GST Act. She informed that, following the directions issued by Financial Commissioner Punjab (IAS) Shri Krishan Kumar, a survey is being conducted by the department from January 10, 2025, to February 10, 2025, to register service provider dealers and to raise awareness about GST.

Additionally, association members were instructed to ensure that all registered traders display their GST number outside their commercial establishments. They were also informed about the Reverse Charge Mechanism (RCM) under which cash tax should be paid by those who have commercial premises on rent.

Subsequently, the association members assured the officers that they would ensure the prompt registration of service provider dealers and would make sure that the tax is paid under the Reverse Charge Mechanism (RCM) for dealers who have rented commercial premises.

Present at the meeting were Shri Amit Dikshit, President of the Bar Association, Shri Jimmy Mittal, Chairman of the CA Association, and others.
