Former Haryana Minister Satpal Sangwan Passes Away

Haryana March 3 : Former Haryana minister Satpal Sangwan passed away on Sunday night. He was 83. He had been unwell for the past few days and was admitted to Medanta Hospital in Gurugram.

Satpal’s body will reach his residence on Loharu Road in Charkhi Dadri, where it will be kept for a couple of hours for ‘antim darshan’.

Suneel said the cremation would be held in their native village Chandeni in Dadri district.

Satpal had been suffering from liver cancer for the past few days.

An employee in the telecommunication department, Satpal entered politics at the behest of former CM Bansi Lal.

Lal gave him the Haryana Vikas Party ticket from Dadri in 1996 and he was elected to the state Assembly. He was an ardent supporter of Bansi Lal.

Later, Satpal joined the Congress  and was again elected to the state Assembly in 2009. The former minister contested the Assembly election from Dadri for six consecutive times. He served as the Cooperatives Minister in the Congress government.
