Additionally, considering the increasing heat, special directions have been issued to take extra care of senior citizens and individuals with special needs.
While holding a meeting with district officials from various departments today, he stated that the intense heat in the coming days could prove harmful to human health. He advised the residents of the district to avoid stepping out during peak afternoon hours.
The Deputy Commissioner further said that according to the advisory issued by the Health Department, newborns, young children, pregnant women, people aged 65 and above, laborers, individuals suffering from obesity, people with mental health conditions, and patients with heart diseases should take extra precautions to avoid exposure to extreme heat.

Always carry water when stepping out in the sun.

People are encouraged to drink more fluids such as ORS, lemon water, buttermilk, coconut water, and other hydrating drinks.
He further suggested avoiding cooking during the hottest hours of the day and keeping kitchens well-ventilated by keeping windows and doors open. The use of cigarettes, tobacco, beedis, and alcohol should be avoided. Consumption of tea and coffee should be minimized, and deep-fried or outside food should be avoided.
