Chandigarh, April 11, 2025 : The Punjab government has made a significant decision for employees of government schools, colleges, universities, and aided schools. Providing major relief to these employees and pensioners, the government has decided to release the pending dues for revised salary, pension, leave encashment, and gratuity as per the 6th Pay Commission (PPC), UGC, and AICTE scales.
According to the orders issued by the Finance Department of the Punjab government, the arrears will be disbursed for the period from January 1, 2016, to June 30, 2021. This decision was approved by the State Cabinet in a meeting held on February 13, 2025, and is in accordance with the guidelines issued earlier on February 18 of this year.
This decision by the Punjab government will benefit employees and pensioners of grant-in-aid educational institutions under the departments of Animal Husbandry, Technical Education, Agriculture, School Education, Higher Education, and Languages.
