Punjab’s Education Model Sets Benchmark for the Nation: MLA Rupinder Singh Happy

Bassi Pathana/Fatehgarh Sahib, April 11 : Under the leadership of Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, significant initiatives have been taken under the “Punjab Education Revolution” campaign to improve the education sector in the state. Due to these efforts, government schools have seen remarkable developments, making Punjab’s education system a model for the entire country.

These views were expressed by Bassi Pathana MLA Rupinder Singh Happy during the dedication of development works worth approximately ₹15.90 lakhs at government schools in the villages of Ajner, Kotla Ajner, and Saidpura.

The MLA shared that at Shaheed Tara Singh Government High School in Ajner, a science lab is being constructed at a cost of around ₹13 lakhs under the “Punjab Education Revolution” initiative, and the school boundary wall has been repaired at a cost of approximately ₹80,000. At the Government Primary School in Kotla Ajner, the boundary wall has been repaired at a cost of ₹90,000, and at the Government Elementary School in Saidpura, the boundary wall was repaired for around ₹1,20,000. All of these were formally dedicated to the public.

The MLA stated that the Punjab government is continuously making improvements in the field of education. He said there was a time when people preferred private schools for their children’s education. However, due to the revolutionary steps taken by the current government, there has been a significant increase in student enrollment in government schools.

Rupinder Singh Happy said that the Punjab government is working tirelessly to provide the best education system in the country. The results of these efforts are clearly visible. He noted that around 28 lakh students are studying in 20,000 government schools in Punjab, of which about 17,000 schools are now equipped with Wi-Fi facilities.

The MLA also mentioned that while the Punjab government has recruited 20,000 new teachers, it has also regularized 12,700 teachers. Additionally, about 9,000 sanitation workers and security guards have been appointed in government schools. Moreover, the introduction of Schools of Eminence is a major gift for students in the state.

He appealed to the public to prefer enrolling their children in government schools.

On this occasion, the MLA also honored outstanding students from the schools. The school staff also felicitated MLA Rupinder Singh Happy for his efforts.

Present at the event were BDPO Khamano Mrs. Parmbir Kaur, Deputy District Education Officer (Elementary) Kamaljit Kaur, Smart Schools Coordinator Gurdeep Singh Mangat, Punjab Mandi Board Member Inderjit Singh, Media Coordinator Jarnail Singh Sahota, Sukhjeet Singh Mavi, along with a large number of teachers, principals, students, and villagers.
