Advisory for May 7 Mock Drill: Key Items to Carry

Punjab May 7: Amid the tense situation between India and Pakistan, preparations are being made in India to deal with potential war scenarios. As part of this, a mock drill will be conducted across all states on May 7, during which sirens will sound, and a blackout will be observed in the evening. Meanwhile, there is a sense of fear among people, and an advisory has been issued. People are advised not to panic during the mock drill.

During the mock drill, there are certain things that people need to keep with them. Before the drill, everyone should charge their mobile phones and power banks. Additionally, they should carry a valid ID card. An emergency kit with medicines, drinking water, and non-perishable dry food items should also be kept. It is important to carry a battery-operated torch, radio, etc.

Furthermore, families should move to the inner rooms or basement of their homes and keep emergency helpline numbers such as police, fire brigade, and ambulance handy. During the blackout, stay inside your homes and avoid being near glass windows. If you’re on the streets, stop your vehicles and park them in a safe place. Turn off lights and gas or electrical appliances in your home. Avoid using phones near windows.
