30 May 2025 : According to the guidelines of the Election Commission of India and to ensure a free and fair election process, Punjab Excise Commissioner Jatinder Jorwal has declared a “Dry Day” from June 17 (6 PM) to June 19 (6 PM) and on June 23 (Monday) during the counting of votes in the 64-Ludhiana West Assembly constituency and within a 3-kilometer radius of this area.
Jorwal has directed strict compliance with these orders, imposing a ban on the sale, distribution, and consumption of alcoholic beverages in the specified areas during the designated period. All concerned authorities and institutions have been instructed to enforce these restrictions rigorously.
Voting for the Ludhiana West by-election will be held on June 19, and the vote counting will take place on June 23.
