Jalandhar, 06 June 2025 : Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has made a major announcement for the students of Punjab. He said that Artificial Intelligence (AI) will now be taught to students from classes 11 and 12, as the future belongs to AI. CM Mann was speaking at an event held to honour the meritorious students who passed JEE Advanced 2025.
During his address, the Chief Minister said that under the Education Revolution, the infrastructure in government schools has been significantly strengthened. The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government has provided better opportunities to students. Praising AAP’s national convenor Arvind Kejriwal, Mann said that Kejriwal was an IRS officer who left his position in the Income Tax department to bring transparency and cleanliness in politics.
CM Mann further added that teachers are the coaches of students and are working hard to shape their future. The government recently invited the top ten students of classes 10 and 12, among whom 19 were girls. He mentioned how a girl told him she scored 99.5% but was disappointed for missing 0.5%. He emphasized that students who study with dedication secure a bright future, whereas those who don’t may struggle ahead.
Mann also said that self-confidence is important, but overconfidence can lead to arrogance, and students must stay away from that. He stated that in the future, the wealthy will not be those with bank balances or land, but those whose children are educated and successful. He noted that education imparts skills that last a lifetime.
The Chief Minister assured that the Punjab government will work to fix its shortcomings and is open to accepting suggestions from students with a clear and honest intent.
He concluded by saying he doesn’t fear highs or lows, only God, and now wishes to bring Punjab back on track to become “Rangla Punjab” (Prosperous Punjab). Education, he said, will play a vital role in this transformation. Sharing his personal journey from being an artist to becoming Chief Minister, he noted that despite this long journey, he remains grounded and without ego. He also met with a former student who is now a doctor, and on this occasion, he honoured the successful students of JEE Advanced 2025.
