A major update on the bullet train, great news for residents in the surrounding areas

Chandigarh, December 24: The bullet train project in India is progressing rapidly, and the first bullet train is set to run in 2026. A new update has emerged regarding the Ahmedabad-Mumbai bullet train. The National High-Speed Rail Corporation Limited (NHSRCL) has announced that over 2 lakh noise barriers will be installed on both sides of viaducts spanning more than 100 kilometers. These noise barriers will help reduce the noise generated by the bullet train’s high speed.

NHSRCL is constructing India’s first high-speed rail line between Mumbai and Ahmedabad, and these barriers are being installed to ensure that nearby residents are not disturbed by the train’s noise. The noise barriers, based on advanced Shinkansen technology, are made of concrete panels, 2 meters high and 1 meter wide, and will be placed on both sides of the viaducts.

The total length of the Mumbai-Ahmedabad high-speed rail project is 508 kilometers. Out of these 508 kilometers, 352 kilometers are in Gujarat, 4 kilometers are in Dadra and Nagar Haveli, and the remaining 156 kilometers are in Maharashtra. The first bullet train is expected to run by 2026.

8-Hour Journey Will Be Completed in 3 Hours: Once the construction of the Mumbai-Ahmedabad bullet train corridor is complete, the current 6 to 8-hour journey between two major commercial cities in Western India will be reduced to just 3 hours. This will not only make it easier for people to travel from Ahmedabad to Mumbai, but also boost commercial activities between these cities.

Summary: The Mumbai-Ahmedabad bullet train project spans 508 km, with 12 stations. It will reduce the 6-8 hour journey to just 3 hours, boosting connectivity and commerce.
