As part of a special awareness campaign being undertaken by the Punjab Government to commemorate the 650th Parkash Purab of Sri Guru Ravidas Ji Maharaj, a special documentary film of approximately 30 minutes, based on the life, teachings and profound philosophy of Sri Guru Ravidas Ji Maharaj, was screened through LED screens in the villages of Sitabgarh, Sadhanagar Colony and Trivedi Camp in the Dera Bassi block.
Sharing information in this regard, Dera Bassi MLA Kuljit Singh Randhawa said that the Punjab Government is conducting this special campaign dedicated to the 650th Parkash Purab of Sri Guru Ravidas Ji Maharaj. The main objective of the campaign is to take the message of equality, communal harmony, humanity and the welfare of all given by Sri Guru Ravidas Ji Maharaj to every household.
He said that through the documentary, people are being informed about the life and teachings of Sri Guru Ravidas Ji Maharaj and his invaluable contribution towards social reform. He added that Sri Guru Ravidas Ji Maharaj preached that society should rise above the barriers of caste and social discrimination and live with mutual love, harmony and equality.
Mr. Randhawa said that the Punjab Government is screening this special documentary through LED screens in villages and various other areas so that every section of society, particularly the younger generation, can draw inspiration from the great philosophy and life of Sri Guru Ravidas Ji Maharaj.
A large number of residents of Sitabgarh, Sadhanagar Colony and Trivedi Camp also watched the documentary and appreciated the initiative being undertaken by the Punjab Government.
