Ludhiana 19 June 2025 : Voting is underway for the by-election on the Ludhiana West Assembly seat. Meanwhile, news has emerged of a heated confrontation between Congress leader Bharat Bhushan Ashu’s wife, Mamta Ashu, and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) candidate Sanjeev Arora.
A fierce argument broke out between the two at a polling booth. Mamta Ashu alleged that the Aam Aadmi Party had brought in goons from other cities and was trying to disturb the atmosphere outside the polling station. She further claimed that the police were acting on the directions of AAP leaders, accusing them of stopping local voters while outsiders were roaming around freely.
In response, Sanjeev Arora stated that no voter was being stopped and that the voting process was proceeding peacefully. He added that media personnel were present at the location and dismissed Mamta Ashu’s allegations as baseless. Arora assured that any claims regarding outsiders would be investigated by the administration.
