ADC Reviews Preparations for District-Level Independence Day Celebrations

Malerkotla, 8 Aug 2025:  As every year, this year too, the district-level Independence Day celebration on August 15 will be held at Dr. Zakir Hussain Stadium with a spirit of patriotism. To ensure the necessary arrangements in line with the directions issued by the government, a review meeting was held under the chairmanship of Additional Deputy Commissioner Sukhpreet Singh Sidhu with officers from various departments.

He gave necessary instructions to the officials of various departments — including the Municipal Council, Education Department, Health Department, PWD, Police Department, Forest Department, Horticulture Department, Dairy Department, Sports Department, Water Supply & Sanitation, DDPO, Youth Services Department, Food & Supplies Department, and Information & Public Relations Department — to begin preparations for the district-level program.

The Additional Deputy Commissioner directed all officials present in the meeting to carry out their assigned responsibilities with full dedication and commitment to make the Independence Day celebration a success. He instructed the concerned departmental officers to arrange for cleaning the VIP stage and ground, parking for vehicles, preparing the saluting base at the saluting point, arranging the national flag, making arrangements at the Shaheedi Memorial at Hussainiwala, decorating roundabouts, transportation, parking, provision of clean drinking water, medical aid, uninterrupted power supply, fire brigade, toilets, etc. He emphasized that every department must ensure that there is no negligence in the tasks assigned to them so that the Independence Day celebration is conducted safely and smoothly.

On this occasion, Additional Deputy Commissioner (D) Rimpy Garg, SDM Malerkotla Gurmeet Kumar Bansal, DSP Manavjeet Singh Sidhu, Assistant Civil Surgeon Dr. Sajila Khan, District Program Officer Ruchi Gupta, District Sports Officer Gurdeep Singh, Executive Officer Upper Apaar Singh, Executive Officer Improvement Trust Neeru Bala, Tehsil Welfare Officer Harpreet Singh, Secretary Market Committee Dharam Pal Singh, ETO Sunil Garg, Tehsildar Reetu Gupta, Kamlesh, Saleem Juberi, along with officials from various departments were present.

Summary:
The Additional Deputy Commissioner inspected arrangements for upcoming district-level Independence Day celebrations, ensuring smooth conduct of events, security measures, cultural programs, and participation of schools and local organizations.
